About SBIOA

Travancore Bank Officers Educational Society

Sprouted in a State where working class movement has deep roots, the SBIOA (KC) with its 6500 plus members has been aggressively and enthusiastically committed to the cause of its members and is in the forefront of all the agitations and struggles in the state Banking scenario.

SBIOA (KC) was formed alongwith the formation of the Kerala Circle of SBI in the year 2000 with Com. Rajeevan as the President and Com Balakurup as the General Secretary. The ABOA Unit SBT, started in the year 1967, was integrated seamlessly into the SBIOA (KC) in 2017 on the acquisition of the Associate Banks by SBI, in what is seen as a model integration by the Federation. Together, we have become stronger and SBIOA (KC) is widely acknowledged as one of the strongest, most militant and vibrant module of AISBOF. We have contributed a lot to the Bank Officers Trade Union movement in Kerala and today, SBIOA (KC) is the strongest constituent of AIBOC in Kerala.

We also undertake many welfare activities also for the benefit of our membership. Our welfare scheme is a classic example for that. Now we also have a novel and bold Social Security Scheme by which we give Rs Five lakhs to the bereaved families of our unfortunate members who leave for their heavenly abode while in service.
STABOC, our cultural forum has been formed in all important centres. Periodical programmes and family get-togethers are being conducted in all centres and the programmes are well received by members. It is a platform for unearthing the hidden cultural talents of our members and their family members.

The Association also publishes the quarterly “SANGMAM” to serve the cause of collectiveness and use communication effectively through involvement of members. It covers current events as well as service matters.

TRABOES is the educational wing of the Association and is involved in the furtherance of education and training for its members. It is all set to start a Banking and Management Training Institute at Thiruvananthapuram.

At present, the Association is led by Com. C P Krishnanadan as President, Com. V Muralidharan as General Secretary and Com. G R Jayakrishnan as Secretary General. Being an officer Trade Union, we are concerned with the wellbeing and welfare of our members. We are also deeply indebted to our loyal members who are our real strength.
